Session Description:
As a former High School Principal of a well known University Preparatory School, Peter came to see the limitations placed upon our children by our archaic Educational System. Many students who appeared to Graduate successfully, struggle in their chosen careers, as they felt forced to conform to an acceptable profession and now live a life of compromise. Peter will discuss the need to create a system which supports the creative expression and passion our children have for life so that they fully embrace their Educational experience and go on to lead happy, responsible and exciting lives!

AWAKING YOUR WELLBEING
-with Lisa Baylis, Founder of AWE, Awaken Wellbeing for Educators (read more about Lisa...)
Session Description:
Self-care practices are important for educators, but the biggest difference for educator wellbeing in today’s classroom will be in their own personal learning of mindfulness and self-compassion. When educators learn to create space to reflect, understand, and meet themselves with kindness under times of stress — instead of ramping up their anxiety and then projecting it back into our classroom — we are creating a safer and less traumatic school environment. Therefore, a mindful self-compassion practice for our educators can have a significant impact on their personal self and the classroom environment.
This session with Lisa Baylis will take you through exercises focused on self-compassion, mindfulness, and self-care to build resiliency within ourselves so we have the capacity to bring that resiliency back to our schools.
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
LUNCH -Please bring your own lunch & snacks to fuel you for the day.
